Good day to you! I am so thankful that His mercies are new EVERY morning! Great is His faithfulness! Welcome to day 27 on week 6 of The 12 week Home Organization Overhaul. I hope you survived the cleaning out of our master bedroom closets! Doesn’t it feel good though. Today, we are going to continue our work in the master bedroom, but did you remember our daily assignment for this week? Did you make your bed? If not, stop right now and go do it……. Ok, now we are ready to continue.
We are going to work clockwise starting from our well-organized closets. If there is a pile of clothes there, go back to yesterdays post and read the questions to ask yourself as a reminder. If it’s a nightstand or book shelf the same principles apply. Remember, our goal is to declutter and organize our entire home completely. Yes, that includes your shoes and even your jewelry box. You can do it!
- Get your 3 boxes for elimination….throw away, give away, and put away. Note: Your put away box might get full quickly if your master bedroom is the “catch-all” for the whole house like mine is. Do not stop to put the items away. Save that task for the end of today’s assignment. I know I have a lot of mu kids clothes that end up in my room. I just set out a basket for each of them and tossed them in there as I go.
- You may want to add a “to do” basket this week as we are working on our master bedrooms. I have a lot of “to do’s” that are floating around my room. Your to do basket can be a great project over the weekend.
- Remember to wipe everything down and only put back the necessary items.
Our master bedrooms take the brunt of a lot of our disorganization and clutter problems. It is so easy when you hear the knock at the door to run things up to your room and close the door (maybe, I am the only one that does this. I don’t know). But what is the purpose of our master bedrooms?
Our master bedrooms should be a place of peace and intimacy. The place where you and your husband have total relaxation and refueling. How can we have this if we are fighting with “stuff”. I know my bedroom is the last place I want to be sometimes. There are times when I do want to go to bed that I have to clear off the bed to even get into it. Let’s do a great job this week to create a room of intimacy and refuge from the hustle and bustle of every day life. What a great way to nurture and bless our husbands!
Verse of the week: The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. Proverbs 31:11-12
Blessings to you! I hope your week is going great!
