I have to admit, this week in our home organization overhaul is really taking a toll on me. My schedule has been insane this week and my time is very full. It would be very easy for me to throw up my hands and give up, but I won’t! I must press on even though I am growing weary and it is only Wednesday. This is a good reminder that organization is a process. And really it is not difficult. It just takes discipline and time. It really is simple to do. But on the flip side, it is simple not to do. So, which will it be….we must decide daily. Today, I will choose the simple TO DO! So on that note…let’s make our bed!
Gather up your boxes: throw away, give away, put away, and maybe a to do box and memory box. I also have a basket for each of my children to throw stray clothes or toys for them to put away.
At this point in our home organization overhaul, you may need to make a trip to your local thrift store or maybe even the dump. 🙂 Try to think of giving your “stuff” away as blessing others. It may be a little easier to part with things if you have an attitude of giving and blessing!
Now that your room is starting to take shape you need to set up a system to keep it that way. The key is to set up morning and evening routines to pick up and put away everything and work the bedrooms into your weekly routines. If we can keep things picked up and organized as a daily habit (the simple to do or simple not to do), things will not get out of hand.
Let me know how things are going! How are your master bedrooms looking? Do you have any tips you would like to share? I would love to hear them.
