Welcome to Day 4 of the 12 Week Home Organization Overhaul! I hope your week of organizing your home has been productive and that you are gaining momentum.
Today, we are going to start our home areas. We will be working on our entry ways for today and tomorrow. The entry way is the first thing people see when they come to our homes. Is it welcoming? My entry way gets so easily cluttered with coats, the unread newspaper, and everything you could possible imagine. As a matter of fact, right now as we speak, my entry way has 4 boxes of apples, numerous coats, a battery charger, hats and gloves…..who knows what else I may find. We cannot get the front door all the way open and you are tripping over things as you come into our apartment. Frustrating! The sad part, is it has been that way for a couple months now. Not so welcoming, huh?
Today’s assignment is to remove everything that does not belong in the entry way (Ok, the apples have to go 🙂 ). The three options apply. Throw it away, give it away, or put it away. Be ruthless. Sometimes it’s just easier to look over some items. Don’t fall into the that trap. If it doesn’t belong get it out of there.
For those of you who need or want encouragement, let’s read Proverbs 31: 10-12 before we get started. Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.– Proverbs 31:10-12
What does it mean to be virtuous? The Webster’s dictionary defines it as: Displaying virtue: RIGHTEOUS.
virtue: 1. a. Moral excellence and righteousness: GOODNESS. b. An example or kind of moral excellence.
Sometimes I read that passage and believe that it is so unattainable. That is just unbelief! I believe that becoming a Proverbs 31 woman is a life long process. Are you a woman of moral excellence and righteousness. Are you a virtuous woman? If you are a child of God then you are clothed with His righteousness. We can be a Proverbs 31 woman. It starts with the attitude of our hearts! What does your attitude look like today?
