Today, I am thankful for my children! Every single one of them!
Young mamas out there listen closely!
I know your days are long and your nights are too short! There are days that seem never ending. You feel like your life is stuck in some sort of Groundhog’s Day nightmare with Bill Murray. But know this too shall pass
. You do not realize how fast until you are on the flip side.
Trust me. I had six children in nine years. There were days, I thought I was going crazy. I understand life with littles and lots of them! But now with my youngest almost six and mt oldest 15, I ask myself where did the time go? And more importantly what did I do with that time.
I must admit some of those days were the hardest days of motherhood, but now I am reaping the rewards of those hard days!
Nowadays, the hard days are usually the ones in which your children are no longer with you. The craziness of
schedules and events takes over. They now want to spend time outside of your home and have other relationships outside of their immediate family. Your heart and relationship have made a shift.
I treasure the time with my children. Every minute I get. I love to hear all about their friends, their activities, their hard times and their good times! I am so thankful for the relationships I have with my children. It brings me such joy to watch their life unfold before my very eyes.
I once had a conversation with my mom yearsago and she said, “the only regret I have is that I did not have more children because of the adult relationships I have now.” Wow! Although she remembered the hard times, it was worth it all because of the relationships now.
I know I cannot even imagine what our adult relationships will look like, but I have caught glimpses of that with my teenage girls and I LOVE IT!
“Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” Psalm 127:3
Our culture today tells us that kids are a burden. They create a financial strain and just cramp the style of chasing the American dream. Do not believe that lie! Children are a blessing from the Lord and think about it…they are the only thing that we can take to heaven with us 😉 !
I truly am thankful to the Lord for blessing me with my kiddos!
Tell your kids how thankful you are for them! Better yet, write them a letter. Every child loves to get a letter!
