Welcome to Day 3 of our 30 Days of Thanksgiving!
I know that many of us are truly thankful for our salvation and that Jesus Christ has given us victory over death, but I want to take that one step farther today. Sometimes, I think we forget to thank Him for the forgiveness of all of our sins. We wrap it into this nice little “salvation’ package, but it is quite different than our salvation.
Colossians 1:12-14 “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”
Stop and think about this for a moment….
We have redemption….Praise God! I have been redeemed by the blood of the lamb!
That in itself is enough…but He is so gracious and merciful that He even forgives all of my sin.
My account was settled. It was zeroed out. There is nothing there. And even better…never will be! Praise Jesus!
1 John 1:9 says,”that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sin,s and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” AMEN and AMEN!
Psalm 103:11, 12 “For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them
that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
Our sins are gone! We are not one sin away from missing the boat. He doesn’t remember what I did yesterday, last week, or last year. It is only me who remembers. I stand before Him in His righteousness.
Throw off the guilt! Satan has us duped into wallowing in our guilt. Confess it. Move on. Jesus paid it all! The account was settled. Our salvation would be looked at much differently if forgiveness of our sins was not part of his love and mercy.
Thank Him today for forgiveness! Now walk in it :)!
For today’s activity. Recite our theme verse….
