Welcome to Day 6 of the 30 Days of Thanksgiving! I am so glad you joined me today!
Is is difficult for you to be thankful? I mean, to truly contemplate the things that God has blessed us with. Not just physical and tangible things, those things can be very easy to be thankful for as we see them, touch them, and interact with them all the time. What about the things we do not see? I find that I forget about those things and find them harder to remember on a consistent basis.
My focus, especially this first week, is to think about the things I take for granted because I do not see them with the physical eye. They are the things God has poured out on me and richly blessed me!
Today is a tough one, but I am so thankful for power over sin.Let me say that a little louder….WE HAVE POWER OVER SIN! (And yes I am yelling 🙂 ) Now granted, we do not always exercise this power, but we still have it.
Romans 6:17-18 “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sins, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.”
Sin is taking over our churches today at epidemic proportion. We have forgotten that we have the power to say no to sin. I think we need to realize the power we have and start tapping into it. We are free from sin. We do not have to choose sin. This freedom allows us to choose the right thing to do.
Have you thanked Jesus for giving us the power over sin? Are you tapping into the power to say no to sin or are you succumbing to the pleasures of sin and relying on His grace to forgive you?
