Biblical Womanhood~ Divine Design: Our Design

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Genesis 1:27

You are woman!

God created you to be a woman at this place and time in history. In a culture where gender is under attack, we must go back to Biblical truths. Our Creator made us by divine design with value and purpose!

Equal in Value

Some how along the way, we have bought into the lie that because we are women, we are not be as valuable as men. This goes right back to our identity. Our identity is in Christ!
http://thejourneyofasteward.com/biblical-womanhood-divine-design-identity.html We are completely and wholly equal, but equal does not mean we are the same. We may be different in every way, but those differences do not dictate our value.

Uniquely Designed

If we go back to the beginning in Genesis 2:18, we see the reason for the creation of the first woman, ” And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Woman is a fitting and a proper helper and companion, and the word “meet” means suitable, proper or fit. God made woman because man would be better with the help of a woman. 1 Corinthians states it this way in chapter 11, verse 8 & 9, “For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.”

With a unique design, also comes an established authority. But this authority is solely based and established with love, not value. Just as God is the head of Christ, so is Christ the head of every believer. (“But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God” 1 Corinthians 11:3)We are to submit to His authority, just as Christ submitted to the Father’s authority. As a woman, God has given us special protections. Those protections come in the form of our husbands and the church. God established an umbrella of protection and authority because of our unique design. We are to submit to those authorities.

Physical Design

It is no secret that women and men are designed physically different. According to 1 Peter 3:7, women are considered the weaker vessel. Remember, not less valuable. Physical strength does not determine worth nor ability. Women are designed to give birth. We are life-bearers. What a privilege! But, with the privilege of being a life bearer comes, also, the God given design to nurture and love our children. As a result, women experience love and life in a completely different way then our male counterparts.

Destruction of the Design

It all started back in Genesis chapter 3. Since the day of the fall, the divine design of both man and woman has been in a downward spiral. In the garden, the innocence of man and woman was lost and started a path of distorted thinking. On this side of the garden, we have lost contentment in what we were created for and that has been replaced with fear, guilt, and self conscious shame. As a result, all of our relationships are broken and distorted.

Think back to the garden, immediately Adam and Eve’s relationship was broken and distorted. They were once walking with God, and because of the fall, they resorted to hiding from God. They were in complete union with each other, now they were playing the blame game. That one bite into that fruit created a hostile environment for everyone involved and begun a life long fight of independence.

Let’s get back to our Divine Design. God created you equal in value and with purpose. Trust Him! Trust His design!
