My 14 year old is starting driver’s education next week (I know, crazy huh!). I got up this morning to gather her paperwork (birth certificate and social security card), as she
is was to go get her driver’s permit with her daddy today. Much to my surprise the social security cards were not where I suspected them to be. “No worries,” I thought to myself, as I just saw them when I was doing the 12 Week Home Organization Overhaul and set them somewhere to file them with their birth certificates.
Well, an hour and a half later and a total mess of paperwork on my table and on my bed….no social security card. I am frustrated beyond belief. To the point of tears and anger I had to walk away. ( I think I will insert here that I also have missed placed a 100 dollar check that I realized was missing this morning as well…not off to a good start). So here I am, sitting at my computer. I believe God has revealed my next blogging series….Paper Organization~Taming the Paper Monster. Am I the only one with this problem?
I like to think I am fairly organized, but apparently my paper has gotten out of control. Now would be a great time for me to purge it because it’s currently spread out over my house like a monster overtaking it’s prey. But I will fight back!
The only way we can overtake and conquer the enemy is with a battle plan. Here’s my plan of attack:
- Assess the enemy…..easy for me as it is right there in the wide open!
- Set a goal……I want to be able to find the paperwork I need in a timely manner.
After talking with a well respected wife, mom, and business lady in my church, I am going to take the plunge into digital storage. I have started this process in the past with Evernote but have not fully committed. Well, I think it is time. Too much time was wasted and the level of frustration was completely unnecessary!
Have any of you found a great system for digital storage? My friend recommended Dropbox and Cozi. That’s where I think I will start. Any thoughts?
Tomorrow we will start the sorting process….
Blessing to you today!
