Teenagers, Tremors, and Timber Terror
It’s that time of the year when the buzz in the air. Summer is right around the corner and that means FUN!
We just drove by Silverwood Theme Park yesterday on our way to a Basketball game. The kids were in awe as it was noticeable how much less snow there was since last week when we drove by. I had to listen to all the chatter of all the rides they were planning to ride this summer.
Teenagers
Last year, our first trip to Silverwood for the season was the Friday of Memorial Weekend. We gathered with several churches from the Pacific Northwest and had a huge Teen Youth Rally. We made a weekend out of it and loaded up the RV and camped in Athol so we could be close by. This is on our schedule again for this year! We had so much fun! We had the entire park to ourselves.
To be a part of an event with a park full of teenagers was an amazing experience. Every age is welcome, however, there are only select rides open and most of them have the height requirement. (Thankfully even my younger kids can ride all the rides because my kids are all tall.) We even have a great chapel time.
Tremors
Sadly Tremors was not open for the teen rally, but my kids love this roller coaster and are anxiously awaiting this year’s Teen Rally with hopes of it being open this year.
The corkscrew was a good substitute! My younger teens literally rode this ride over, and over, again. With it being a special event, the lines, if any, were very short. We also went on Thunder Canyon many times and there was always a Pastor or two trying to strategically soak the passer bys.
Timber Terror
I have to admit that roller coasters are not my favorite thing as an adult, but moms will do many things for their kids! But this roller coaster was actually quite fun. So mom’s out there, you can do this roller coaster. Of course, all my teens could talk about was going backwards on this ride at Scarywood.
I would be amiss if I did not mention the food. Oh boy! It is catered through Silverwood and they have a huge seating/picnic area in the back. The food was amazing and you could eat as much as you like. That is important if you are feeding teenagers! 🙂
We can’t wait for the Teen Rally this year!
