I hope you had an amazing weekend. I sure did! Do you ever find it very difficult to get back into the routine of things after a great weekend? I do. Matter fact, everything in me, this very moment, is kicking and screaming it’s way into Monday morning.
It’s hard to believe we are starting week 8 of our 12 Week Home organization Overhaul. I hope you are seeing the effects of your disciplines. Use those successes to keep moving forward, as it is very easy to grow stagnant and fall back into the habits that got our homes cluttered and chaotic in the first place.
We are working in our kids’ rooms again this week. Depending on how last week went for you and how much attention your room needed. You may or may not be able to move on to the next room. I am still in my girls’ room as it needs some more attention.
Grab your 3 boxes and let’s move through the room. We have already cleaned the floor, cleaned out the closet, and worked on the beds.
- Have your children make their beds. Did you make YOUR bed today?
- (I am working through dressers today) Go through every piece of clothing. Our kids usually have an over abundance of clothes. Try to simplify and pare everything down to only what is necessary.
- Separate everything into throw away, put away, and give away. Review day 33’s check list for getting rid of clothes.
- Put everything that you are keeping back into the drawers.
Tip of the day: Use baskets, small tubs and containers to separate small items like socks, underwear, and under shirts. I also, set up every child’s drawer the same (ie. the top drawer for everyone is socks and underwear, second drawer is shirts, etc.) This makes training your child to put clothes away a whole lot easier! I also, when folding laundry, put the clothes in piles according to drawer.
I hope you have a great Monday! Enjoy blessing your children through organizing their bedrooms!
