We are on Day 42 of our home organization overhaul and I hope your homes are truly being transformed.
Today, for our assignment we are going to work on the beds. Some of you may only have one, so your task will be quick. I have three and they are bunked, so it can be a challenge. But first, is your bed made? 🙂 You must model this habit.
- Strip all the beds.
- Wash all the bedding
- Make all the beds
Now, that sounds simple right? It can be, but remember who we are doing this for. We want to train our kids to make their beds every day, so we want to make it as easy as possible for them.
Now, that the beds are all cleaned and made. Do a quick clean up of all the areas in the bedroom that you have already accomplished. Remember, training is everything. Make it easy for your children to put things away and make things tidy in 10 minutes or less.
Sometimes, I think we forget that we are training our little ones for a day that seems so far away. But the reality soon sinks in and most times we are playing catch up to all the things we put off. Let’s be diligent in our children’s room (no matter their ages)! Remember, ultimately we are responsible for what is in our homes. I, too often, just throw up my hands and close the door. That is really not caring and nurturing my children. That is frustration and chaos and we want to rid it from our homes. Our homes need to be a place for all of our family members to find rest and peace!
Let’s bless our children today!
