We are excited that our home organization overhaul project is coming to a close, but really we are just getting started. It is amazing how quickly things can revert back to what they were if we do not keep up on them. I walked into my girls’ room last night and walked away in disgust. All that time I spent and it looked like a cyclone had gone through. Mounds of clothes, open, empty drawers, and toys strewn all over. Arg! I turned around and just walked out. Wow!
There are many variables in our lives that can dictate what our homes looks like, if we allow it. My next step is to get rid of more stuff because apparently we can’t take care of what we have. Drastic measures. Just not sure what that is going to look like yet.
All that to say, don’t give up! Stay the course. Continue. You can do it.
Today, we are going to tackle the garage. Now, some your husbands may take this responsibility. But some won’t and some of the garage may be our responsibility. We may use it for storage or pantry areas. We want to get all that pertains to our home organized.
This task may take a bit longer, but I would encourage you to get it done in one shot. If you just can’t take a couple days if necessary.
Note to self: Please be sensitive to your husbands feelings. Talk to him beforehand. It may be a sensitive area. Remember, we want to bless not cause contention.
- Pull out everything that needs to go.
- If it doesn’t belong in the garage, put it away.
- Set up stations. Areas of like items that are easily acceptable for the tasks.
Here are some station ideas: yard tools, gardening, sports equipment, car care items, bikes, tools, camping equipment, storage, pantry, freezer, etc.
Blessings to you and your family today!
