Stewardship is a buzzword in the church today. As soon as the word stewardship rolls off the tongue of the pastor, you can feel the rolling of the eyes and the checking out as everyone knows what’s next. “Oh here it comes, the pastor is going to tell me what to do with my money.” We equate being a good steward with tithing. And although, tithing is definitely part of it…there is so much more!
So what exactly is a steward?
According to the Webster’s dictionary: “steward-1. One who manages another’s property, finances, or other affairs. 2. One in charge of the household affairs of a large estate, club, hotel, or resort.”
According to the Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary– “primarily denoted “the manager of a household or estate”.
God has entrusted so many things to me….am I being a good steward?

1 Corinthians 4:1-2 “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”
