Our apartment complex has a new look. As a matter of fact, I have missed my drive way because it looks so out of place. But it looks so good.
The inside is amazing. Everything is brand new and looks great. I actually am extremely happy with our new apartment.
We are still settling in and still do not have everything moved back in, but I have worked so many hours with all the construction goings ons I just have not had time. Thankfully, we just rented a storage unit instead of everything going with the movers. We have been able to bring boxes in on an as needed or as wanted basis. It, literally, has saved my sanity. With all the chaos going on outside my apartment, I certainly did not need chaos in my apartment too.
We still have a little bit of finish work that needs attention because of some back ordered items or done wrongly projects and seasonal landscaping, but it is minimal. My wonderful husband spent hours walking the property and picking up garbage and “stuff” left by various sub contractors. Things are really starting to get back to our standard.
I think this week may be a difficult transition. With the mass exodus of workers, I feel like we are done and I want to just let down and rest. But the project is not finished and I want to finish well!
We still have a ton of paperwork to get caught up on (as I was displaced from my office for four weeks and am still trying to get everything set up, working, and unpacked) and now with the sale of the property and all new tax credits recertification of all the tenants is underway.
So here we are on our final push….
Yesterday, I was a bit overwhelmed but God was so gracious to break it down for me. Here is what this week will look like.
- Retrieve all my office boxes and files from storage
- Hook up scanner, fax, and wifi (top priority, but my router is stuck somewhere in a box)
- Find my petty cash checkbook…yep, big oops, another box!
- Unpack all the boxes and situate into all my lovely new cabinets
- Send out recertification notices.
Of course my dear husband is home on vacation or two weeks and he had offered to help me so we will rock this! My goal is to set boundaries and do it all during my office hours. It’s time to take my time back!
If you think about it, please pray for me this week, that I will finish well. Specifically to find my checkbook, find my router, and the set up of my scanner/copier will go smoothly!
